Join to walk 6.6 kilometers in honour of Riel’s family and friends who carried his casket 6 miles in the harsh Manitoba winter to St. Boniface so that he may be laid to rest.
Following the walk, mass with Artchbishop Richard Smith, Catholic archdiocese of Edmonton will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, before a light lunch at Deville North Cooking Lake Hall.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) will have their annual Mass on August 27 at 1 pm. All are welcome.
Also, Friends Of Deville/St.Margaret’s Society will be hosting an Open House following the Mass from 2 to 5 pm. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn of the history of the church and cemetery.

Also, there will be a Friends Of Deville/St.Margaret’s Society general meeting specifically called to discuss/approve an application for a Historical Conservation Grant for the replacement of the roof shingles.
The meeting will be at 2:30 pm following the Mass at the church.
All are invited to the annual church and grounds clean-up. Contact us or just show up. Many hands makes for short work. Basically, cutting grass, trimming bush/rees and church cleaning.
All though built circa 1912, it was on June 1, 1915, that the Roman Catholic parish of St. Margaret’s(Deville) was established canonically by Archbishop Emile Legal.The first mass in the new church was held on June 20, 1915 by Father Beaudry.
All are invited to join in the 100th Anniversary of St. Margaret’s Church. There will be a mass held at 11:00 am, official greetings and presentations at 1:00 pm, followed by an Old Fashion Social featuring old fashioned root beer, cream sodas along with pie and ice-cream.
All are invited to dress in early period costume and arrive by horse, horse and buggy and/or antique vehicles.
